Travelling Light with Small Kids

There was a time when traveling light was the thing experienced travelers strived for. Today it’s required protocol as more and more airlines are charging hefty fees for every checked bag. This presents an added challenge for those traveling with children in tow. Car seats, strollers, highchairs, portable cribs and so much more seem to be required equipment on any voyage involving children. So how can a parent provide these creature comforts for their little ones and still pack light enough to avoid airline baggage fees?

Going without basic kid necessities just isn’t a great option when you consider how stressful traveling with little ones can be. Instead consider renting some of the items you’ll need throughout your trip. For example, car rental agencies will provide you with a car seat or booster seat for a small fee. Be sure to arrange for these items in advance. It would be disheartening to arrive at your destination, ready to rent a car seat for your toddler only to learn that the agency has rented its entire stock.

For more baby furnishings and equipment try Baby’s Away which rents cribs, high chairs, strollers and more. They have locations throughout much of the U.S.A.
