Places to Go with Kids When You’re Divorced

There is more than enough pain in just about any divorce, so to make things more complicated in any way seems a little bit like rubbing salt into a wound this is all the more relevant when there are children involved. While divorcing may be the best thing when a marriage has become detrimental to both parties, it still hurts the children to see the two most important people in their lives unable to work things out and get along. If you do divorce, and the children remain with your spouse, visitation rights become vitally important.

Taking your kids on days out will not heal all the pain that a divorce causes, but it can at least instil a sense in them that things are going to be OK. There is sometimes a tendency to take them on exciting, occasionally expensive days out that your ex-spouse may not be able to afford or find time to arrange. This is one-upmanship and should always be avoided. You’re doing this for them, not you, after all.

Days out to parks and zoos are always good. They aren’t too ostentatious, but they do allow the children to get fresh air and see some of nature. Theme parks and days of that sort are likely to get children excited and boisterous, which your ex-spouse will then have to deal with. As vindictive as you may occasionally feel, try to give that a miss. It’s not fair on the children, quite apart from anything else.
