Where is my wallet?
It happens all the time. People on vacation, enjoying the time with their family suddenly realize they’ve misplaced their wallet. What can you do if this happens to you?
First of all, remain calm and think about the last time you used your wallet. Can you remember what you paid for and where you were? Perhaps you left it there. If you can’t recall, or you’ve checked and the wallet isn’t at the restaurant you ate at last night then calmly, but immediately, report all of your credit cards as lost or stolen. To do this with ease, it’s important that you’ve planned in advance.
What do you do before you leave home?
- Create a list of all of the important items in your wallet, along with the telephone numbers of the credit companies you’d need to contact if your credit cards were lost.
- Make several copies of this list and pack each list in a different bag.
- Resist holding on to all of the credit cards in your wallet. Instead, have your spouse carry a few in his or her wallet.
Planning ahead is the key for a fun filled vacation. Considering emergencies like a lost wallet and knowing what to do can help you feel in control of a stressful situation.
