Road Tunes For Family Vacations

Your husband just cannot seem to drive a car without blaring country music. Your kids have their own tastes. It is time to head out for your family vacation and all you can think about is the battle that will soon ensue over the radio dial.

What can you do?

Save yourself the headaches by thinking ahead. You can set everyone up with their own favorite traveling tunes without spending a small fortune in the process.

If your kids have MP3 players, load them up with their favorite songs before you go. Older children can create their own playlists and use ear buds to block out Dad’s country music. Younger children might need your help on this front, but the effect will be the same.

Now, if you do not have MP3 players to go around, consider portable, and cheap, CD players. You can still access music Web sites to create personalized CDs for each child. A player for each child and headsets enough to go around should produce plenty of peace for your ride.

Stop the battle of the radio dial before it starts by making a preemptive strike. With a little creativity, you can make sure every member of the family has traveling tunes to suit. Just do not forget yourself in the process! Chances are you could benefit from kicking back and letting a few miles pass as you listen to your own favorite songs.
