Doctoring Little Ones While You Are On Vacation
You are miles from home on what is supposed to be the vacation of a lifetime, but your youngest child seems to be running a rather high fever. Your oldest is complaining of a sore throat and he sounds congested.
Do you have to pack everything in and head home? Not necessarily. If you keep your cool and access the situation carefully, you can nurse your children back to health and back to having vacation fun in no time at all.
While it is certainly true that it is scary to have a sick child far from home, you can get through this. As long as symptoms are not too severe, do what you normally would at home. Should that fever spike too high or that sore throat be particularly troublesome, you might want to seek out medical help. You can find good doctors no matter where you are. To do so, ask your hotel to recommend an afterhours pediatric clinic or a regular walk-in clinic. If you are not comfortable with this, contact your insurance company for recommendations.
Sniffles and little fevers on the road do not have to sideline vacation fun. Chances are with a little doctoring your children will be back on their feet and having a blast in no time at all.
