Entertain Your Toddler without Blowing Your Budget

If you are a parent, you are probably always trying to come up with new and interesting ideas that will keep the short attention span of your toddler. Don’t worry you are not alone, that is why we wrote these ideas that will help you keep your toddler’s imagination working, while you keep your wallet filled with money.

  • Play with potatoes and paint. This is one of the oldest crafts in the books. Grab a sack of potatoes at your local grocery store and cut them in half. Carve a shape into it and viola! Combine it with a little finger paint and you have an instant stamp that allows for easy clean up. This is a great way to have your toddler make their own trick or treat bags, holiday cards, or just their very own work of art for the fridge!
  • Ice cube painting. Pick up some dry tempura paint at your local arts and crafts store and put the paint in a salt or pepper shaker for easy application. Then cover the surface that you are working on with plastic and place a large piece of paper on the surface. Take the salt shaker and have your child sprinkle the colors they like on the paper. Take the ice cube and have them create their own pictures. Once the ice cube touches the dry paint, the colors will come to life!
